Boxing’s demise
From the ashes of the scorched International Boxing Association’s (IBA) democracy, sits a meathead of epic proportion. Umar Kremlev, the president of the IBA could not be a more toffee-nosed, malodorous pervert.
Well, the allegation of pervert is not proven in any official court, kangaroo or otherwise. However, the meathead did refer to the International Olympic Committee’s president Thomas Bach as a “chief sodomite.”
So, it takes one to know one, amirite?

Umar Kremlev is a Russian sports office-bearer who has served as the president of the IBA since 2020. His campaign likely commenced during a concussive epodic outburst — tourettes-like. He was secretary general and member of the executive committee of the Boxing Federation of Russia since February 2017. In 2022, IBA members voted against holding an election, 106-36, allowing Kremlev to remain as IBA president.
Otherwise, he would beat the 142 into submission. So, as it turns out, he only had to beat 36 into submission. It was rather light and satisfying work for a meathead.
Kremlev is a self promotor, which does nothing for the organization. Once given the throne, he moved the IBA’s head office to Russia and then suspended Ukraine from the IBA. Kremlev signed an exclusive sponsorship agreement with the Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom. IBA’s relationship with the IOC collapsed during Kremlev’s tenure.
As did decorum, civility and diplomacy. Stuff happened with a fulminative Kremlev, tantruming about his 200 square metre condominium; clearly, he is not worthy of the oligarchy.

The chaos that defines the meathead
In 2010, Kremlev changed his name from the feminine-sounding name Umar Lutfulloyev. He was attempting to distance himself from his unsuccessful criminal history, including a conviction for extortion in 2004 and battery in 2007.
The IBA got turfed from the Olympics as Bach stated that the IBA had failed to address governance, finance and corruption concerns. That’s when Kremlev called Bach a “chief sodomite.” Kremlev also stirred controversy by claiming that a female boxer failed her gender test only after she beat a Russian boxer.
Russian chaos in sport governance is well documented. Few sports in the country operate with clear direction, without corruption and in an organized way. Everyone is drunk.
Christian Klaue, the IOC’s head of communications, said the IBA is running a Russia-backed “disinformation campaign against the Olympic movement.”
A wonderful depiction of a tragic press conference by the IBA was well documented in the Washington Post by Les Carpenter.
“Kremlev spoke about how he was standing up for women’s sports as IOC President Thomas Bach was trying to destroy them. He ranted about the Games’ Opening Ceremonies and how a scene resembling Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” portrayed by drag queens had “humiliated him.” Finally, his voice rising until he was almost shouting, he said he was “going to open prosecution” of Bach without providing details of how that would be done.”
